MTV never fails to amuse me with putting films such as ‘The Help’ and ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1’ in the same category. Every year I wonder “will this be the year cult-like followers and die hard fans are able to put their devotion for ‘Twilight’ aside, and recognize the quality films that truly surpass the vampiric love story. For those of you who don’t recall, last year ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclispe’ beat out titles such as ‘Black Swan’, ‘Inception’, and ‘The Social Network’ for Best Movie. Also Kristen Stewart took home an award over Natalie Portman, and her counterpart Robert Pattinson surpassed Jesse Eisenberg in Best Female and Best Male Performance. A win for the twihards who will never even come close to getting their fix at The Oscars, but a (not so major) loss for the dignity of film makers and enthusiasts. We’ll see who wins this year on Sunday June 3rd.
