New extended TV spot for The Expendables 2: watch now

The Expendables 2 has released a new extended TV spot, featuring Sly Stallone and his crew of assorted badasses showing off their guns, muscles and one-liners.

New Teaser spot for ‘Les Misérables’ to star Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sacha Baron Cohen among others. I must say I’m pleasantly surprised at Hathaway’s singing abilities, which makes me anxious to hear the rest. Directed by Tom Hooper, who brought us the Academy award winning ‘The King’s Speech’, it is set for release on December 14, 2012.

bahahaha.

The Dictator Movie Poster

Ah Sacha Baron Cohen. British comedian who got his start with a somewhat known movie-turned-show, ‘Ali G (Indahouse to ‘Da Ali G Show’)’. Most of us came to know him through his 2006 hit comedy Borat, where he played a reporter from Kazakhstan, learning American ways.Borat Some unfortunate souls know him more from Bruno, his homo erotic comedy about an Austrian fashion reporter bringing his show to America.  Cohens films are offensive by nature, bringing forward stereo types most dare not touch, including extremely controversial comments on Jewish faith and culture.

Sorry to say, no different comes of his new film The Dictator. But did we expect any thing else? Mocking the recently passed Kim Jong-il, Saddam Hussein, Osama bin laden, and our own countries leaders, Cohen again spares no one. This time around we follow the story of a dictator who is betrayed and loses his beard, making him unrecognizable. ‘Aladeen’ (yes like Aladdin, but not) is forced to assimilate into American culture, specifically the particularly popular Hipster-Green-Vegan-Brooklyn lifestyle.

Screenshot from The DictatorWith Anna Faris co-starring it’s a pretty straight forward, predicable plot, with plenty of hits toward women, Afro-Americans, LGBT, and just about every other race and creed you can think of. While the jokes land they don’t quite hit hard. Fans of silly and ill mannered humor will enjoy it, but the more sarcastic bunch like myself may only award it light giggles. It was a lovely little rant at the end about a dictatorship vs. (American) democracy that made it a memorable experience.

*If you’re a fan of Baron Cohen (are there fans of Baron Cohen?), you’ll like it. If not, wait for cable.

**Try not to pay full price.

The Dictator is now in theaters everywhere. Until MIB 3 kicks it out.

Anchorman 2: First Teaser Trailer

A short teaser trailer for ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’ went viral yesterday. Looks as though the main cast is all there, minus Christina Applegate. Gotta remember that the script is still being written, so the full cast..and plot are both up in the air. They plan to begin shooting in early 2013 for a 2013/2014 release date.
